The OKIB Elders Activities Program connects Elders to the people, programs, and resources that support a healthy, connected, and fulfilling life. Here’s how:
Engaging Activities and Events
Coordinating regular activities, cultural gatherings, community outings, and weekly luncheons in consultation with Elders.
Health and Wellness Promotion
Sharing information and resources that encourage healthy living, wellness, and preventative care through education and community initiatives.
Community Connections
Building strong relationships between Elders, community-based programs, and service providers to help Elders access the supports and resources they need.
Advocacy and Support
Assisting Elders and their families by connecting them with services such as Interior Health and other community resources.
Knowledge Sharing
Creating opportunities for Elders to share their knowledge, experiences, and cultural teachings while encouraging participation in activities both within and beyond the community.
Collaborative Partnerships
Working alongside the OKIB Health and Wellness Department and other OKIB departments to promote Elder wellness and advocate for the needs and interests of our Elders.
