OKIBFD is committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment through emergency response, fire prevention, training, public education, and community services. Serving the Okanagan Indian Band community and surrounding areas, the fire department responds to a wide variety of emergencies including structure fires, wildland fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle incidents, rescue calls, hazardous situations, and other public safety incidents. 

Our firefighters are dedicated professionals who continuously train to maintain the knowledge, skills, and readiness required to serve a growing and diverse community. 

About the OKIB Fire Department

OKIBFD currently operates multiple emergency response vehicles including engine pumpers, rescue apparatus, a water tender, and command vehicles. Members regularly participate in training programs and emergency exercises to stay ready and maintain strong response capabilities.
