August 6th, 1530 Hours (03:30 pm) Way’ Members, The Hullcar Mountain fire size has stayed consistent today at around 330 hectares approximately. The fire is rated from Rank 1 to 2, indicated by it’s low intensity with a slow rate of spread. Way’ Members, The Komasket Beach swimming advisory has been removed. The 5 water sample matrix has returned results lower than 200cfu/100ml Water sample results for other beaches are expected for later this week or early next week.

August 6th, 1000 Hours (10:00 am) Way’ Members, BC Wildfire crews worked through the night to help restrain fire growth. Crews today have taken a more accurate estimation of fire size, which is now estimated at 300 hectares. Today additional crews will join those currently on site and will continue to be supported by aerial assets including helicopters and water

August 5, 2024 20:30 hours Way’ Members, Please be advised that the OKIB Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has been monitoring the Hullcar Mountain Fire which is on the northern area of Splatin’s Salmon River IR #1. The fire was reported last night, and a lightning strike was determined to be the cause. The OKIB EOC staff are monitoring the fire
